A dignified Platinum Jubilee ceremony was organized at Nishtar Hall, Peshawar, to mark the completion of 75 years of educational services of the Forward System of Education. The Chief Guest of the ceremony was Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme, Senator Rubina Khalid. Upon her arrival, young children gave her a warm welcome by presenting flowers and offering an enthusiastic reception.

On this occasion, Chairman Forward System of Education Muhammad Mumtaz Khan, Chief Executive Zafar-ul-Islam, Chief Patron Ms. Hameeda Zafar, Managing Director Sarfraz Khan, and Principal Forward High School Dr. Saubia Saqib were present.

During the ceremony, tribute was paid to the services of the founder of the institution. The Forward System of Education was established in 1950 and over the past more than seven decades has played a significant role in educating thousands of students and providing capable individuals to society. Alumni, teachers, educationists, and distinguished guests from various walks of life attended the event in large numbers, along with a substantial presence of former students.

While addressing the gathering, Senator Rubina Khalid appreciated the educational services and long struggle of the Forward System of Education. She paid a glowing tribute to renowned educationist Professor Muhammad Shafee Sabir, acknowledging his lifelong services for the promotion of education and describing him as a valuable national asset. She stated that such educational institutions are a precious national treasure, playing a vital role in the intellectual and moral development of generations. She emphasized that education is not merely about obtaining degrees but is a means of developing awareness, character building, and a sense of social responsibility.

In her address, the Chairperson BISP also briefed the audience about the objectives of the Benazir Income Support Programme, stating that it is working across the country to promote economic empowerment, financial inclusion, and social protection for more than 10 million women. She said that the struggle of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto is a symbol of courage, resilience, and self-confidence for women, and urged young people, especially female students, to draw guidance from her vision, strive peacefully and with dignity for their rights, and become agents of positive change in society.

Addressing the students, Senator Rubina Khalid advised them to pursue education with hard work, honesty, and dedication. She stated that youth are the future of the country and that national progress depends on their abilities, character, and intellectual capacity. She urged students to not only build a better future for themselves through education but also to bring honor to the country and the nation.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the school administration presented a commemorative shield to Senator Rubina Khalid. In return, Senator Rubina Khalid presented honorary shields to the institution’s administration, Board of Directors, and the Principal. Students presented various tableaux, cultural and educational performances were showcased, and the cake marking the institution’s 75th anniversary was also cut.

The Platinum Jubilee ceremony concluded with a renewed commitment to recognizing educational services, reviving the national educational heritage, and further strengthening the journey of knowledge and awareness for future generations
