Shehbaz Sharif has directed provincial governments to take strict action against individuals and businesses involved in hoarding petroleum products. The prime minister emphasised that artificial shortages and profiteering would not be tolerated.
Officials said monitoring teams have been instructed to conduct inspections of fuel stations and storage facilities to ensure a smooth supply of petroleum products across Pakistan. Authorities warned that violators would face legal action under relevant laws.
Energy analysts noted that the directive aims to stabilise fuel supply and prevent panic buying among consumers during periods of uncertainty in the energy market.
