Araghchi says school strike ‘calculated’ assault by US; Iran reports 250 students, teachers killed during war

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has described the deadly school strike as a “calculated” assault by the United States, accusing Washington of deliberately targeting civilians during the ongoing conflict. Iranian officials said the attack on a school in the southern city of Minab resulted in heavy casualties, mostly among children and teachers.

According to Iranian authorities, the overall toll from attacks on educational institutions during the war has reached around 250 students and teachers. Reports indicate that one of the deadliest incidents involved a strike on a girls’ school, where dozens to over 100 people were killed, though figures vary and remain difficult to independently verify.

Tehran has strongly condemned the incident, calling it a violation of international humanitarian law and warning of consequences. Meanwhile, US officials have said the incident is under investigation, as global concern grows over rising civilian casualties and the targeting of non-military sites in the escalating conflict
