SBP Receives $1.2bn Tranche From IMF

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has received a $1.2 billion tranche from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as part of the ongoing financial assistance program. Officials stated that the funds will support Pakistan’s balance of payments, bolster foreign reserves, and facilitate macroeconomic stability. The IMF praised Pakistan’s continued adherence to agreed-upon reforms and fiscal measures, noting that timely disbursement reflects progress in economic management. Analysts said the tranche will help strengthen investor confidence, improve liquidity, and support the government’s efforts to stabilise the economy amid global financial challenges.
