Pakistan Has Carried Out Massive Counter Terrorism Campaign During The Last Ten Days

ISLAMABAD: For the past ten days Pakistani military has been engaged in a massive high-tempo counter terrorism operations in border districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa following a suicide attack on a military check post in Bajaur district in the third week of this month.

The Pakistani military has conducted several intelligence based operations in border districts of KP in which hundreds of militants and terrorists have been killed.

One of the central focuses of these intelligence based operations has been to intercept militants who were making attempts to cross the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. In one recent engagement in North Waziristan, security forces killed an Afghan national during an infiltration attempt.

In these intelligence based operations the security forces have specifically targeted those districts where there have been a concentration of militants. On February 24, 2026, alone, 26 militants were killed in four separate engagements across KP.

The military operations have also been carried out to recover abducted security personnel, a mission described by the military as the “absolute top priority”.
Over the past week, the military’s media wing (ISPR) reported specific engagements in several districts:

North Waziristan where 12 militants were killed in Mir Ali, and infiltration attempts were thwarted near Hassan Khel. In the Narmi Khel area of Bannu district 10 militants were eliminated in two separate encounters. An IBO in this district resulted in the deaths of three militants after an intense exchange of fire. Four militants were killed on February 23 during an operation based on reported presence of “khawarij”

“Over the last few days, Security Forces conducted a series of high-tempo intelligence driven operations, part of a relentless counter terrorism campaign aimed at eliminating Indian Proxies, Fitna Al Khwarij & Fitna Al Hindustan” reads a press release.

On 24 February 2026, twenty-six khwarij belonging to Indian Proxy Fitna Al Khwarij were killed in four separate engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, whereas eight khwarij belonging to Indian Proxy Fitna Al Hindustan were killed in an engagement in Sambaza, Balochistan.

Movement of a group of khwarij, opposite general area Hassan Khel, North Waziristan District, who were trying to infiltrate through the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, was picked up by the security forces. Own troops effectively engaged this group of khwarij. As a result of precise and skillful engagement, one kharji belonging to an Indian proxy, Fitna al Khwarij was sent to hell. It is significant to highlight that the killed kharji has been identified as an Afghan national.

In another engagement, an intelligence based operation was conducted in Lakki Marwat District. During the conduct of the operation, Pakistani troops effectively engaged the khwarij location and after an intense fire exchange, three khwarij were successfully neutralised.

Simultaneously, in two separate engagements in general area Narmi Khel, Bannu District, own troops effectively neutralized ten khwarij, while operating on precise intelligence, own troops successfully eliminated twelve khwarij in gen area Mir Ali, North Waziristan District.

During the fifth engagement, own troops conducted an intelligence based operation in the general area Sambaza, Zhob District. After an intense fire exchange, eight terrorists belonging to Fitna Al Hindustan were successfully neutralized.

Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from Indian sponsored killed khwarij and terrorists, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area.

The Security Forces of Pakistan remain resolute and unwavering in their commitment to defend the nation’s frontiers. Sanitization operation are being conducted to eliminate any other Indian sponsored Kharji found in the area as relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under vision “Azm e Istehkam” (as approved by Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.
