Sindh Schools Closed Mar 16–31; Govt Offices WFH Fridays For Austerity
Sindh schools to close from March 16–31, Friday to be WFH for govt offices as part of austerity measures
The Sindh government has announced the closure of all public and private schools across the province from March 16 to March 31 as part of new austerity measures aimed at reducing energy consumption and operational costs. Officials said the temporary closure is intended to ease the burden on public resources during the ongoing economic challenges.
Authorities also confirmed that all provincial government offices will observe work-from-home on Fridays during this period. The move is expected to reduce electricity usage and transportation expenses while allowing government operations to continue without disruption.
Officials added that the measures are part of a broader plan to promote efficiency and cost-saving across government departments while maintaining essential services for the public.
