Turkiye says NATO defences intercepted 3rd missile from Iran, asks Tehran to clarify
Turkiye has said that NATO air defence systems intercepted a third ballistic missile launched from Iran, prompting Ankara to demand clarification from Tehran. The Turkish Defence Ministry stated that the missile was detected and neutralized before it could cause damage, as tensions continue to rise across the region.
According to officials, this is the third such incident in recent days, with earlier missiles also intercepted by NATO defence systems protecting Turkish airspace. Turkiye warned that it would take all necessary measures to safeguard its territory and citizens if further threats emerge.
Authorities said diplomatic channels are being used to seek an explanation from Iran regarding the launches. The incidents come amid escalating regional conflict involving Iran, the United States and Israel, raising concerns about a broader security crisis in the Middle East
