Zimbabwe Pacer Blessing Muzarabani Banned For 2 PSL Editions Over ‘Failure To Honour Commitments’
Zimbabwe fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani has been banned from the next two editions of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) after failing to honour his contractual commitments, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed.
The decision follows a disciplinary review in which the PCB declared the pacer ineligible with immediate effect, citing a breach of agreement that undermines the league’s professional framework.
Muzarabani had earlier agreed to represent Islamabad United in the PSL but later withdrew and opted to join an Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, creating a conflict of commitments.
According to the PCB, professional cricket relies heavily on trust and adherence to agreements. Officials stressed that once key contractual terms are accepted, they form a binding obligation, and any withdrawal without valid reason violates the principles of good faith.
Analysts say the move reflects growing tensions between global T20 leagues, particularly as overlapping schedules force players to choose between competitions. Experts believe stricter enforcement of contracts may become more common to protect league integrity and franchise interests.
