‘We are prepared’: DG ISPR highlights Pakistan’s indigenous military capabilities

Director General ISPR Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has emphasized Pakistan’s preparedness and growing indigenous military capabilities, stating that the country is fully equipped to respond to emerging security challenges.

Speaking during a recent briefing, the military spokesperson highlighted the progress made in locally developed defence technology, including missile systems, drones, electronic warfare tools, and modern combat platforms. He said Pakistan’s defence sector has significantly advanced in achieving self-reliance.

“We are prepared,” the DG ISPR stated, underscoring the armed forces’ readiness to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity under all circumstances.

Officials noted that indigenous defence production has become a central pillar of Pakistan’s security strategy, aimed at reducing dependence on foreign suppliers while strengthening operational capability. The military also pointed to recent successful tests of locally developed systems as evidence of growing technological expertise.

The remarks come amid heightened regional tensions and evolving security dynamics, prompting renewed focus on deterrence and strategic readiness. Military officials reiterated that Pakistan seeks regional peace but will maintain robust defensive capabilities.

Analysts say the emphasis on indigenous military development reflects broader efforts to modernize Pakistan’s defence infrastructure and enhance long-term strategic autonomy.

Observers add that domestic defence production could also contribute to economic and technological growth by supporting local industry and innovation.
