Iran Rejects Kuwait’s ‘Baseless Allegations’ Over Alleged IRGC Infiltration

Iran has rejected Kuwait’s allegations regarding an alleged infiltration attempt linked to members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), describing the claims as “baseless” and politically motivated.

The response came after Kuwaiti authorities announced the arrest of four individuals allegedly connected to the IRGC who were accused of attempting to enter Kuwaiti territory by sea near Bubiyan Island. Kuwait claimed the incident involved hostile intentions and resulted in clashes with security forces.

Iranian officials strongly denied the accusations, stating that the individuals were conducting a routine maritime patrol and unintentionally entered Kuwaiti waters due to a navigation system malfunction. Tehran also called for immediate consular access and the release of the detained nationals.

The incident has increased diplomatic tensions between the two Gulf neighbours, with Kuwait summoning Iran’s ambassador and issuing an official protest over the matter.

Analysts say the dispute reflects growing regional sensitivities over maritime security and rising geopolitical tensions across the Gulf region.
