Khawaja Asif Says KP Now On Same Page With Centre Against Terrorism
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is now on the “same page” as the federal government in the fight against terrorism and rising security threats.
Speaking during a media interaction, the minister stressed the importance of coordination between provincial and federal authorities to effectively tackle militancy and maintain law and order across the country.
Khawaja Asif said improved cooperation between the Centre and KP administration would help strengthen counterterrorism operations and intelligence-sharing mechanisms in sensitive regions.
The remarks come amid renewed security concerns in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where authorities have intensified efforts against militant activity and cross-border threats.
Analysts say the statement reflects attempts to project political unity on national security matters, particularly as Pakistan faces increasing pressure to enhance internal stability and counterterrorism coordination.
