PMD Forecasts Rain, Thunderstorms Across Upper Regions
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain and thunderstorms in the upper parts of the country from June 2 to June 5, as a new weather system is expected to enter northern areas.
According to meteorological officials, several regions including upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir are likely to receive rainfall accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorm activity.
The expected weather conditions may bring relief from rising temperatures and hot weather currently affecting many parts of the country, particularly in northern and central regions.
Authorities have advised residents to remain cautious during the forecast period, as heavy rainfall and strong winds could lead to localized flooding, disruptions in traffic flow, and damage to weak infrastructure in vulnerable areas.
The PMD has also urged relevant departments to stay alert and take precautionary measures to address any emergency situations that may arise due to adverse weather conditions.
Analysts say the upcoming spell of rain is expected to improve weather conditions temporarily, while also benefiting water resources and agricultural activities in several regions.
