KP CM Seeks Court Approval To Meet Imran Before Budget
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has approached the Islamabad High Court (IHC), seeking permission to meet former prime minister Imran Khan ahead of the presentation of the provincial budget.
According to the petition, the chief minister requested the meeting to discuss matters related to the upcoming budget and other issues concerning governance and provincial affairs.
The application argues that consultation with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder is important for policy decisions and budget planning, given his leadership role within the party.
The request comes as the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government prepares its budget proposals for the next fiscal year, with key decisions expected regarding development projects, public spending, and economic priorities.
Legal proceedings regarding the petition are expected to continue in the Islamabad High Court, which will determine whether the requested meeting can take place.
Analysts say the outcome of the case could have political significance, as discussions surrounding the provincial budget remain a major focus ahead of its presentation.
