Trump Says Pakistan ‘Really Helped Us’ With Iran Deal

US President Donald Trump has praised Pakistan for its role in facilitating negotiations between Washington and Tehran, saying Islamabad “really helped us” in securing the recent agreement with Iran.

Speaking to reporters, Trump acknowledged Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts alongside those of several Gulf states, describing the country as an important intermediary during months of intensive negotiations aimed at ending hostilities and restoring regional stability.

The US president credited Pakistan’s leadership for maintaining communication channels with both sides and helping create conditions conducive to dialogue and de-escalation. He has previously praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir for their contributions to the peace process.

Pakistan has consistently maintained that it played a constructive role in facilitating backchannel diplomacy, with officials describing the country’s efforts as part of its commitment to promoting peace and stability in the region.

The agreement between the United States and Iran is expected to pave the way for further negotiations on key issues, including maritime security, sanctions relief, and long-term regional stability.

Analysts say Trump’s remarks underscore Pakistan’s growing diplomatic profile and highlight its ability to engage with multiple stakeholders during periods of heightened geopolitical tensions.
