FO Summons Afghan Envoy Over Karachi Rangers Camp Attack
Pakistan’s Foreign Office has summoned the Afghan chargé d’affaires and issued a “strong” demarche following the recent terrorist attack on a Karachi Rangers camp.
According to the Foreign Office, Pakistan strongly condemned the attack and conveyed its serious concerns over the involvement of terrorist elements allegedly operating from Afghan territory.
Officials urged the Afghan authorities to take immediate and effective action against militant groups and prevent their territory from being used for activities that threaten Pakistan’s security.
The Foreign Office reiterated Pakistan’s expectation that Afghanistan would fulfil its commitments to combat terrorism and cooperate in addressing cross-border security challenges.
Pakistan also stressed the importance of sustained bilateral engagement to tackle terrorism and maintain peace and stability along the shared border.
Analysts say the latest diplomatic move reflects Pakistan’s continued emphasis on counterterrorism cooperation and its concerns over cross-border militant activity.
