Iran Says Strait of Hormuz Is No Place for Foreign Military Show

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister has said the Strait of Hormuz should not become a platform for military displays by what he described as “extra-regional powers.”

The Iranian official stressed that security in the Gulf should be maintained through cooperation among regional countries rather than the presence of outside military forces.

He said Tehran remains committed to safeguarding maritime routes and ensuring the uninterrupted flow of international shipping through the strategic waterway.

The remarks come amid heightened attention on security developments and naval activities across the Gulf region.

Analysts say the Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most strategically important maritime corridors, making any military activity there a matter of global concern.

Observers believe Iran’s latest statement reflects its longstanding position that regional security should be managed by countries within the region without external military involvement.
