KP Governor Pushes for Unified Lawmakers’ Privileges Bill 

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has called for the introduction of a single, harmonised bill to govern the privileges and benefits of lawmakers across the province.

He said a unified legal framework would promote transparency, consistency, and accountability while ensuring equal treatment of all legislators.

The governor stressed the importance of holding consultations with political stakeholders before finalising the proposed legislation.

Officials said the move is aimed at addressing legal inconsistencies and establishing a clear policy on lawmakers’ privileges.

The proposal comes amid broader discussions on governance reforms and legislative affairs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Analysts say a harmonised bill could strengthen institutional transparency and create a more uniform system for regulating legislators’ entitlements.
