Dar Says Regional Peace Depends on Ending Terrorism from Afghanistan

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has said lasting peace and stability in the region can only be achieved by eliminating terrorism emanating from Afghanistan.

Speaking at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) meeting, Dar stressed the need for collective efforts to combat terrorism and enhance regional security through closer cooperation.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to working with SCO member states to address shared security challenges and promote peace, stability, and economic connectivity.

Dar also emphasized the importance of dialogue, mutual trust, and coordinated action to counter cross-border terrorism and strengthen regional cooperation.

The meeting brought together leaders and representatives from SCO member countries to discuss key regional and international issues.

Analysts say Dar’s remarks reflect Pakistan’s continued focus on counterterrorism cooperation and its call for a coordinated regional approach to ensuring lasting peace.
