Pakistan Extends Airspace Ban on Indian Aircraft Until October 24
Pakistan has extended its airspace restrictions on Indian aircraft until October 24, according to a new Notice to Airmen issued by the Pakistan Airports Authority.
The restriction applies to Indian-registered aircraft as well as aircraft operated, owned or leased by Indian airlines and operators, including military flights.
The latest extension continues restrictions that have been renewed several times amid strained relations between Pakistan and India. The previous extension was due to expire on September 24.
The continued closure requires affected Indian airlines to use alternative routes for flights that would otherwise cross Pakistani airspace, potentially increasing travel time and operating costs.
The extension keeps the airspace restrictions in place as broader bilateral tensions between the two countries remain unresolved.
