Iran Shoots Down Another US MQ-1 Drone Over Strait of Hormuz

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) says it has intercepted and destroyed another US MQ-1 drone over the Strait of Hormuz, adding to a series of reported drone incidents in the strategic waterway.

According to Iranian state media, the drone was detected and brought down by the IRGC Aerospace Force using a newly deployed air-defense system operating within Iran’s integrated air-defense network.

The reported incident comes amid heightened tensions between Iran and the United States around the Strait of Hormuz, a major route for international energy shipments. Iran has reported several interceptions of US drones in the area in recent weeks.

The latest claim adds to the military tensions surrounding the strategic waterway and could further increase concerns over security and navigation in the region.

Iranian authorities presented the incident as a successful air-defense operation, while independent confirmation or an immediate US response to the latest claim was not reported.
