Pakistan Men’s Squash Team Secure Bronze, Enter Semifinals

Pakistan’s men’s squash team has secured at least a bronze medal at the 2026 Asian Games after defeating South Korea 2-0 in the quarter-finals at the Nagoya Kinjo Futo Arena.

Muhammad Ashab Irfan gave Pakistan the lead with an 11-5, 11-8, 11-8 victory over South Korea’s Na Jooyoung in the opening tie.

Pakistan’s top-ranked player, Noor Zaman, then sealed the quarter-final against Seojin Oh, winning 11-4, 11-5, 8-11, 11-2 to complete the 2-0 team victory.

The result guarantees Pakistan a podium finish because the team event awards bronze medals to the losing semi-finalists, meaning Pakistan will leave the competition with at least a bronze medal regardless of the semi-final result.

Pakistan will face Hong Kong in the semi-final after Hong Kong defeated Qatar 2-0 in the other quarter-final. The semi-final is scheduled for Thursday.

Noor Zaman and Ashab Irfan have already contributed to Pakistan’s medal tally in the individual squash competition, with both reaching the men’s singles semi-finals earlier in the Games.

The team’s progress gives Pakistan another opportunity to challenge for a higher medal as the country continues its campaign at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
