India Beat Pakistan 4-3 in Asian Games Hockey Semi-Final

India defeated Pakistan 4-3 in a dramatic men’s hockey semi-final at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, booking a place in the gold-medal match.

India took control early, with Harmanpreet Singh scoring twice from penalty corners before Sukhjeet Singh extended the lead to 3-0. Pakistan responded strongly and began to turn the match around.

Pakistan’s comeback saw goals from Abu Mahmood, Hannan Shahid and Waheed Ashraf Rana, bringing the score level at 3-3 and setting up a tense final period.

India eventually found the decisive goal in the closing stages when Abhishek’s effort took a deflection off Pakistan’s Sufiyan Khan and entered the net with less than a minute remaining.

The result sends defending champions India into the Asian Games final, while Pakistan will now compete for the bronze medal. India will face the winner of the other semi-final between Malaysia and South Korea.

The match marked another intense chapter in the long-running India-Pakistan hockey rivalry, with Pakistan’s fightback keeping the contest in balance until the final moments.
