Saudi Authorities Deny Suicide Bomber Claims at Grand Mosque
Saudi authorities have denied reports that a suicide bomber was arrested at the Grand Mosque in Makkah, saying the claims circulating online are false.
Authorities said security personnel arrested a man for allegedly harassing passersby and causing fear and panic among people at the holy site.
The clarification came after social media posts claimed that a suspected suicide bomber wearing an explosive vest had approached the Kaaba before being stopped by security forces. Authorities provided no evidence supporting those claims.
The incident was dealt with immediately, and legal procedures were initiated before the detained person was referred to the Public Prosecution, according to Saudi authorities.
Officials urged the public to rely on official sources and avoid spreading unverified information regarding incidents at the Grand Mosque.
