Hasan Nawaz’s 96 Goes Unrewarded as Pakistan Take Silver

Hasan Nawaz’s fighting 96 went in vain as Pakistan lost to India by 19 runs in the Asian Games men’s cricket final and secured the silver medal.

Chasing 212, Pakistan finished on 192 for six after Hasan Nawaz led the recovery with a 51-ball 96, including five fours and seven sixes.

Pakistan were reduced to 39 for three before Hasan and Saim Ayub built an 87-run partnership to revive the chase and keep the contest alive until the final over.

India’s 211 for six proved enough for victory, with Pakistan falling 19 runs short despite Hasan’s aggressive innings. Hasan was dismissed from the final ball, four runs short of a century.

The result gave India the gold medal, while Pakistan finished with silver after a strong campaign in the men’s cricket competition.
