J-60 Bard Foundation Junior World Tennis Championships Begin in Islamabad, Key Details Highlighted

Islamabad: The J-60 Bard Foundation Junior World Tennis Championships commenced at the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) Tennis Complex, Garden Avenue, Islamabad, featuring 58 players—36 boys and 22 girls—from 14 participating countries including Russia, Hong Kong, China, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Serbia, Australia, Spain, Canada, Belarus, Sweden, and host Pakistan.

Sponsored by the Bard Foundation for its vital role in junior tennis development, the prestigious event was warmly welcomed by PTF President Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, Secretary General Col. Zia-ud-Din Tufail, and the management, who extended best wishes to all participating players and officials.

President PTF Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi highlighted the federation’s continuous efforts to provide international exposure through back-to-back events—including two ITF Women’s World Tennis Tour tournaments, the Billie Jean King Cup Asia/Oceania Group III, three consecutive ITF World Tennis Junior tournaments, and upcoming ITF Men’s World Tennis Tour Futures.

Emphasizing the value of hosting such tournaments, Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and Col. Zia-ud-Din Tufail noted that home-soil international events allow Pakistani juniors to compete against foreign players, gain match experience, and earn ITF ranking points without travelling abroad, while expressing sincere gratitude to the Bard Foundation for its generous sponsorship.
