Minister for Interior and Coordination, Naqvi, has announced the establishment of a Special Protection Unit in Islamabad dedicated to the security of Chinese nationals residing in Pakistan. Officials stated that the unit will focus on proactive measures, intelligence-led operations, and close coordination with local law enforcement to ensure the safety of foreign citizens and key projects. Naqvi emphasised that the initiative underscores Pakistan’s commitment to protecting international partners and fostering a secure environment for investment and collaboration. Analysts noted that the move is aligned with broader efforts to strengthen security around strategic initiatives, including CPEC.
