PM Shehbaz Sharif ‘deeply’ concerned after 3 Pakistani nationals injured in UAE amid Iran conflict
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed deep concern after three Pakistani nationals were injured in the United Arab Emirates amid the ongoing Iran conflict. The incident occurred at Khor Fakkan port when falling debris from an intercepted projectile struck civilians.
Officials said the injured Pakistanis sustained minor to moderate injuries and were provided immediate medical assistance. UAE authorities confirmed that the projectile was intercepted by air defence systems, but debris caused damage and injuries at the port.
In a statement, the prime minister prayed for the swift recovery of the injured and said Pakistan is in close contact with UAE authorities to extend all possible support to its citizens. He also emphasized the need for restraint and de-escalation amid rising regional tensions.
The incident comes as the Iran conflict continues to impact Gulf countries, with missile interceptions and falling debris posing risks to civilians in the region.
