“Divided Superpower: America’s Iran Fixation And The China Challenge”
ISLAMABAD: Amid rising fears of resumption of hostilities in Persian Gulf, Prime Minister Shehbez Sharif said that his government was making “full efforts” to bring Tehran and Washington back on the negotiating table.
“Today, the ceasefire still stands. As I am talking to you, matters that are not resolved, full efforts are underway to resolve them,” he said in a televised address to the federal cabinet.
In his first remarks on the matter after the negotiations concluded, the premier hailed talks between the two countries in Islamabad as a “historic moment”.
He said the Islamabad Talks gave Pakistan a chance to “turn looming clouds of war into lasting peace”.
PM Shehbaz added that “if you look through history — take the Oslo Agreement, the Geneva Accord, the Good Friday Agreement … it took months and sometimes years to end hostilities and establish peace”.
Coming to the Islamabad Talks, he said that the Iranian and American delegations had negotiated “continuously for 21 hours”.
Pakistan initiated its efforts for negotiated settled of conflict in the Persian Gulf after its received backing from China, which also put its weight behind the efforts aimed at direct negotiations between Tehran and Washington and opening of Strait of Harmoz.

After that Us launched one war after wars after another in its efforts for continued dominance of the international system. China emerged gained from strength to strength with its Economic rise, political stability and message to the international community of Peace commerce and trade, and economy.
Now when American forces were in occupation of Afghanistan, there was a debate going on in Washington that suppose Americans succeed in stabilizing Afghanistan and the region after spending trillion of dollars who will benefit? The debate concluded that US should start thinking about global supremacy contest with China, instead of petting regional conflicts.
Now Americans have engaged themselves in petting regional dispute, Iran, instead of focusing on global supremacy contest with China.
Its seems Washington is itself divided on strategic matters. There are people who are advocating that Washington should focus on context for global supremacy for it would lead America into Focus on Indo-Pacific. The body of opinion in Washington argue that Washington should try to stabilize Middle East which will make it focus preventing oil shocks, protect allies, contain Iran “The U.S. is not confused—it is divided.”
