Turkiye Urges ‘Constructive’ US-Iran Talks To End War
Türkiye has called on the United States and Iran to engage in “constructive” talks to bring an end to the ongoing conflict, stressing that diplomacy remains the only viable path toward lasting peace.
Officials in Ankara reaffirmed their support for continued negotiations, urging both sides to use the current ceasefire as an opportunity to transition toward a permanent truce. Türkiye, a key regional player and NATO member, has been actively coordinating with both Washington and Tehran, along with mediator Pakistan, to facilitate dialogue.
Authorities emphasized that sustained engagement and mutual understanding are essential to de-escalate tensions and avoid further instability in the region. Efforts are also underway to revive stalled talks, with the possibility of a new round of negotiations expected soon.
Analysts believe Türkiye’s diplomatic push reflects growing international consensus that there is no military solution to the conflict. However, they warn that without meaningful progress in upcoming talks, the fragile ceasefire could collapse, potentially triggering renewed escalation and wider regional consequences.
