PM Shehbaz ‘graciously’ approves spectators for PSL 11 final on franchise owners’ request: Naqvi
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved allowing spectators to attend the final of Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11, following a request from franchise owners, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi confirmed on Saturday.
According to officials, the decision was taken after reviewing the overall security situation and logistical arrangements in the host city. Naqvi stated that the prime minister “graciously” accepted the requst, paving the way for cricket fans to witness the final live in the stadium.
Authorities said that comprehensive security measures will be put in place to ensure the safety of players, officials, and spectators. Law enforcement agencies are expected to deploy additional personnel, while entry protocols and crowd management strategies will be strictly enforced.
The PSL final had faced uncertainty due to heightened security concerns and movement restrictions in recent days. However, the latest approval is being seen as a positive development for both fans and organizers, allowing the tournament to conclude on a high note.
Franchise owners welcomed the decision, saying it would boost the atmosphere of the final and support the league’s commercial and sporting success. Analysts also note that the move reflects confidence in the security framework despite ongoing challenges.
Further details regarding ticketing, venue capacity, and SOPs are expected to be announced soon by the Pakistan Cricket Board.
