Iran Says US No Longer in Position To ‘Dictate’ Policy To Other Nations

Iran says US no longer in position to ‘dictate’ policy to other nations

Iran has stated that the United States is no longer in a position to dictate policies to other nations, amid ongoing tensions and stalled negotiations over the Middle East conflict and the Strait of Hormuz.

According to Iranian Defence Ministry spokesman Reza Talaei-Nik, Washington must accept that it can no longer impose its will on “independent nations,” adding that the current geopolitical situation reflects a shift in global power dynamics.

The remarks come as the US considers a new Iranian proposal aimed at reopening the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global energy route that has remained disrupted during the conflict. The closure of the strait has sent shockwaves through global oil markets and placed the waterway at the center of diplomatic efforts.

Iranian officials have also urged the United States to abandon what they describe as “illegal and irrational demands,” signaling continued resistance to Washington’s pressure tactics. Meanwhile, negotiations for a broader settlement remain inconclusive despite a temporary ceasefire between Iran, the US, and Israel.

The statement aligns with broader messaging from Tehran emphasizing resilience and independence, with officials highlighting Iran’s willingness to deepen cooperation with other nations, particularly within regional blocs.

Analysts say the rhetoric reflects deepening mistrust between Washington and Tehran, with both sides maintaining firm positions on key issues such as nuclear policy, sanctions, and regional security. They warn that without compromise, diplomatic efforts could remain stalled, prolonging instability in the region.
