Sindh Govt Issues Aurat March NOC With Conditions On Clothing And Slogans

The Sindh government has issued a no-objection certificate (NOC) for the upcoming Aurat March, while imposing several conditions related to participants’ clothing, banners, and slogans during the event.

According to official documents, organizers have been directed to ensure that march participants avoid “objectionable” attire and refrain from displaying controversial or provocative slogans. Authorities also instructed organizers to maintain public order and comply with security guidelines throughout the gathering.

The Aurat March, held annually in Pakistan to highlight women’s rights and social issues, has often sparked debate over its messaging and public demonstrations. Supporters describe it as an important platform for gender equality and social justice, while critics argue some slogans and activities clash with cultural and religious values.

Officials say the conditions attached to the NOC are intended to maintain peace and prevent any untoward incidents during the march.

Analysts note that the decision reflects the continuing national debate surrounding freedom of expression, women’s rights, and public sensitivities in Pakistan.
