Babar And Naseem Recalled As PCB Announces 16-Member Squad For Australia ODIs 

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a 16-member squad for the upcoming ODI series against Australia, with star batter Babar Azam and fast bowler Naseem Shah making their return to the national side.

Left-arm pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi will continue to lead the team, while Salman Ali Agha has been named vice-captain for the three-match series scheduled from May 30 to June 4 in Rawalpindi and Lahore.

The squad also includes the return of Shadab Khan and Sufyan Moqim, while Ahmed Daniyal, Arafat Minhas, and Rohail Nazir have earned their maiden ODI call-ups.

According to the PCB, Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub were not considered due to ongoing rehabilitation from injuries, while wicketkeeper Usman Khan missed selection because of illness.

Analysts say the recalls of experienced players signal Pakistan’s intent to field a stronger combination against Australia ahead of upcoming international tournaments and ODI preparations.
