Islamabad Rejects India’s Claims On Occupied Kashmir At UN
Pakistan has strongly rejected India’s assertion that occupied Jammu and Kashmir is an “integral part” of India, criticizing New Delhi for what it described as misleading statements made before the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
In an official response, Islamabad reiterated that the Kashmir dispute remains an internationally recognized issue on the UN agenda and cannot be resolved through unilateral claims or actions.
Pakistani officials stated that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have the right to self-determination in accordance with relevant United Nations resolutions, emphasizing that the region’s final status remains disputed.
The Foreign Office accused India of attempting to divert international attention from the situation in the territory through what it called inaccurate and misleading representations at global forums.
Pakistan further urged the international community to support efforts aimed at a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute in line with international law and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
Analysts say the exchange reflects the continued diplomatic tensions between Islamabad and New Delhi, with Kashmir remaining a central issue in relations between the two neighboring countries.
