Iran Maritime Body Says Strait Of Hormuz Fully Closed Until Further Notice

Iran’s maritime authorities have declared the Strait of Hormuz “completely closed until further notice,” escalating tensions in the Gulf following a fresh wave of military confrontations in the region.

According to Iranian military-linked statements reported by state and international media, all vessels—including commercial ships and oil tankers—are barred from transiting the strategic waterway.

Officials reportedly warned that any attempt to enter or pass through the Strait would be treated as a violation and could face military action, as security conditions in the region remain highly volatile.

The announcement comes amid an ongoing exchange of strikes between Iran and the United States, raising global concerns over potential disruptions to one of the world’s most important oil shipping routes.

The Strait of Hormuz, which handles a significant share of global crude exports, is considered a critical chokepoint for international energy supplies, and any prolonged closure is expected to impact global markets.

Analysts say the situation remains extremely fluid, with conflicting signals and heightened military activity making the outlook for maritime traffic uncertain in the coming days.
