Information Minister Calls FY2027 Budget ‘Positive And Relief-Oriented’

Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has described the proposed federal budget for fiscal year 2026-27 as “positive and relief-oriented,” saying it reflects the government’s commitment to supporting economic growth and easing financial pressure on the public.

Speaking to the media, Tarar said the budget includes measures aimed at promoting investment, strengthening key sectors of the economy, and providing relief to salaried individuals and businesses.

He stated that the government has sought to strike a balance between fiscal discipline and public welfare, while continuing efforts to maintain economic stability.

The information minister highlighted that the budget focuses on increasing development spending, expanding the tax base, and creating opportunities for sustainable economic growth.

According to officials, the proposed financial plan is designed to build on recent improvements in macroeconomic indicators and support the country’s broader reform agenda.

Analysts say the budget’s success will depend on its implementation and the government’s ability to achieve revenue targets while delivering the promised relief measures.
