PPP Wins 11 Seats As GB Election Chief Concludes Remaining Petitions

The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has secured 11 seats in the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly after the Chief Election Commissioner of Gilgit-Baltistan decided the remaining election petitions, finalising the results of the disputed constituencies.

According to election authorities, the rulings on the pending petitions resolved outstanding challenges related to the recent polls, paving the way for the completion of the assembly’s composition.

PPP leaders welcomed the outcome, saying the party now holds a strong position in the regional legislature and is prepared to move forward with its governance agenda.

Officials stated that the decisions were made following a review of legal submissions and evidence presented by all parties involved in the election disputes.

The finalisation of the election results is expected to accelerate the process of government formation in Gilgit-Baltistan, where political parties have been engaged in consultations over potential alliances and leadership roles.

Analysts say the outcome strengthens the PPP’s influence in the region and could play a significant role in shaping the future political landscape of Gilgit-Baltistan.
