PM Shehbaz Says Pakistan Will Continue ‘Honest, Sincere Role’ In Advancing Dialogue

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to promoting peace and diplomacy, saying the country will continue to play an “honest and sincere role” in advancing dialogue following the latest round of US-Iran talks in Switzerland.

In his first remarks after the high-level negotiations held in Bürgenstock, Switzerland, the prime minister expressed satisfaction over the “successful conclusion” of the talks and described the outcome as an encouraging step towards a comprehensive agreement.

Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan remains committed to supporting diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving lasting peace and stability in the region, adding that dialogue remains the only viable path to resolving complex international disputes.

According to the prime minister, the discussions resulted in significant progress, including agreement on a 60-day roadmap towards a final deal, the establishment of a high-level committee for political oversight, and plans for further technical negotiations.

Pakistan has played a facilitative role in recent diplomatic engagements between Washington and Tehran under the framework of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, which seeks to promote de-escalation and regional stability.

Analysts say Pakistan’s continued involvement in the peace process highlights its growing diplomatic profile and underscores its efforts to position itself as a constructive mediator in regional affairs.
