Sindh Declares Public Holidays On June 25 And 26 For Ashura

The Government of Sindh has announced public holidays on June 25 and 26 across the province on the occasion of Ashura, marking the 9th and 10th of Muharram.

According to an official notification, all government offices, educational institutions, and public sector organisations operating under the provincial administration will remain closed during the two days.

Authorities said the decision was taken to facilitate religious observances and ensure smooth arrangements for mourning processions and gatherings held across Sindh during Muharram.

The provincial government has directed relevant departments, including law enforcement agencies and municipal authorities, to implement comprehensive security and traffic management plans to maintain public safety.

Special measures are also being taken to ensure uninterrupted provision of essential services, including healthcare, sanitation, and emergency response operations during the holidays.

Analysts say the declaration of public holidays allows citizens to participate in Ashura-related events while enabling authorities to focus on security and administrative arrangements.
