Relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under vision “Azm e Istehkam” (as approved by Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.

The latest operations come amid an intensified campaign by Pakistan’s security forces against militant groups operating in Balochistan, particularly those accused of targeting civilians, security personnel and infrastructure.

Intelligence-based operations (IBOs) have become the primary counterterrorism tactic, allowing forces to strike suspected militant hideouts based on actionable intelligence.

Balochistan has witnessed a surge in terrorist attacks over the past two years, including assaults on security forces, development projects and public infrastructure. Militants have also increasingly employed suicide bombers and improvised explosive devices (IEDs), prompting security agencies to expand intelligence gathering and pre-emptive operations across the province.

Pakistan’s military has repeatedly maintained that several militant groups active in Balochistan receive external support. Official statements describe these organisations as “Indian proxies” and refer to them collectively as “Fitna Al Hindustan,” alleging that they are financed, trained and directed to destabilise Pakistan. India has consistently rejected these allegations.

The ongoing counterterrorism drive forms part of the national security strategy under “Azm-e-Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan. The initiative aims to strengthen intelligence coordination, enhance law enforcement capabilities and dismantle terrorist networks through sustained military and civilian efforts.

Security officials have reiterated that intelligence-led operations will continue across Balochistan and other vulnerable areas to prevent terrorist attacks, eliminate militant infrastructure and disrupt networks involved in planning and facilitating acts of terrorism. Sanitisation operations are routinely carried out following engagements to ensure the area is cleared of any remaining militants or explosives.
