Xi Jinping to Visit US from Sept 23-25 for Talks with Trump
Chinese President Xi Jinping will visit the United States from September 23 to 25 for talks with US President Donald Trump, in a major high-level engagement between the two countries.
The state visit comes at the invitation of Trump, with Xi scheduled to hold discussions with the US president on major issues affecting China-US relations, as well as broader global matters.
Trade and tariffs, artificial intelligence, Taiwan and other strategic issues are expected to feature in the leaders’ discussions as Washington and Beijing seek to manage ongoing differences.
The meeting will mark the second summit between Xi and Trump this year and comes amid continued efforts to maintain dialogue between the world’s two largest economies.
Chinese officials have said Beijing is willing to strengthen dialogue and cooperation with Washington while managing differences and promoting stability in bilateral relations.
