Saudi Forces Report Intercepting Houthi Drones Heading Toward Riyadh

Saudi air defences have intercepted and destroyed two drones launched toward the Riyadh area, according to the Saudi-led coalition.

Coalition spokesperson Colonel Turki Al-Maliki said the drones were detected and intercepted before reaching their intended target, while Saudi authorities continued monitoring aerial threats.

The incident comes amid renewed attacks by Yemen’s Houthi movement against Saudi territory, including threats involving drones, missiles, cities and energy infrastructure.

The latest interception highlights continuing security tensions between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis and the ongoing role of Saudi air-defence systems in responding to incoming threats.

Saudi authorities have also reported the interception of a ballistic missile launched toward Khamis Mushait as regional tensions remain elevated.
