Lahore Tops Global List of Most Polluted Cities Again

Lahore has once again ranked as the world’s most polluted major city, according to live air-quality data from IQAir, highlighting the continuing pollution challenge facing the city.

The ranking showed Lahore at the top of the global list, with air quality classified as unhealthy. Dhaka and other major cities followed closely behind in the rankings.

Air pollution in Lahore is linked to several factors, including vehicle emissions, industrial pollution, crop-residue burning and atmospheric conditions that can trap pollutants over the city.

The latest ranking has renewed attention on the city’s persistent air-quality problems, as pollution continues to affect daily life and raise environmental concerns.

Authorities have said efforts are underway to address environmental issues and reduce the impact of smog and air pollution in Lahore and other parts of Punjab.
