More Than 340 Children Killed in Gaza Despite Ceasefire, UNICEF Says

More than 340 children have reportedly been killed in Gaza despite a ceasefire, according to UNICEF, highlighting the continued humanitarian crisis facing children in the Palestinian territory.

The reported deaths underline the ongoing dangers for civilians, even as the ceasefire was intended to reduce violence and provide relief to a population devastated by the conflict.

UNICEF said that in the two weeks preceding its latest update, seven children were reported killed and at least 33 seriously injured in airstrikes, drone strikes and gunfire. Two other boys also died from injuries sustained earlier.

The agency warned that the ceasefire has not delivered the safety children need. Around 800,000 children remain displaced, many living in tents or damaged buildings, while families continue to face severe humanitarian challenges.

UNICEF has called for stronger protection for children and improved humanitarian conditions, stressing that the continued loss of young lives highlights the urgent need for lasting security and recovery in Gaza.
