Maldives President Lands in Pakistan for Official Visit

Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu has arrived in Pakistan for an official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation between the two countries. The visit highlights the longstanding ties between Islamabad and Malé and their shared interest in closer diplomatic engagement.

During the visit, discussions are expected to focus on areas of mutual interest, including trade, investment, education, tourism and regional cooperation.

President Muizzu arrived in Islamabad on Tuesday for a three-day state visit at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He is accompanied by First Lady Sajidha Mohamed and a high-level delegation of cabinet ministers and senior officials.

During the visit, President Muizzu is scheduled to meet President Asif Ali Zardari and hold official talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Discussions will cover trade, investment, health, education, tourism, defence, maritime security and climate change.

The visit is particularly significant as Pakistan and the Maldives mark 60 years of diplomatic relations. Both sides are also expected to sign several agreements and memorandums of understanding to strengthen cooperation and promote closer economic ties.
